The Divi builder uses three levels of building block: sections, rows and modules.
Sections are used to design the layout of a page or post. They are the biggest building block and the first thing added when you start building. In order to add a row, you need a section to add it to.
There are three types of sections:
Regular sections contain rows of columns whereas full width sections contain full width modules that span the entire width of the screen.
Rows reside within sections. You can add as many rows into a section as you please.
Rows have a column structure which you can adjust according to your needs.
Once you have defined a column structure (e.g. 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3), you can add modules into the columns. You can add as many modules as you like into a column.
Modules are the content elements that make up the website. Divi comes with over 40 modules.
There are simple modules like
and more complex modules like
